I just called it my quote book. It was a hodgepodge of snippets heard on the radio, clippings from a newspaper or magazine or something I heard. But it actually has a name! It's called a commonplace book.

Start your own database
I use Filemaker Pro for my database. Overall, databases store more data than spreadsheets. One tip is to make sure the field that is set up as the quote cannot be repeated.
